Code: 2406037Product detailed description
A glass lamp called Bishop designed by a Czech artist and designer Ivan Jakeš. Ivan Jakeš worked many years for a national enterprise Lighting factory (in Czech called Osvětlovací sklo) in Valašské Meziříčí. He produced tens of designs working for this company, but his chess pieces designed in 1970 are probably his most famous works. While the white being the classic colour for them, they were produced in many bright colours and were exported abroad. The Bishop lamp is made of three layers of white opaque glass, when lit the upper part glows with pleasantly warm light. The lamp is fully functional, in a good original condition.
