Maxim Velčovský's objects for Picky Parents are composed of various objects in three-dimensional collages. The artist creates surreal still lifes or totems on the theme of play and light. The first object, "Viva la luce!", is a monument to the light parents use to help their children fall asleep.

It is the only original piece by Maxim Velčovský, one of the most important contemporary Czech designers, whose works are represented in the collections of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague or the Victoria and Albert's Museum in London. Since 2011, Maxim Velčovský has been the artistic director of Lasvit.
