Floor lamp EXPO 58 type S 101
Code: 2309000Product detailed description
High floor lamp designed by Lidokov for the EXPO 58 in Brussels under the name S 101. Expo 58 was one of the world's most famous exhibitions and the first major exhibition after the Second World War, attracting a large number of artists and visitors from all over the world and bringing great recognition and a long list of awards to Czechoslovakia. Following the Czechoslovak success at the exhibition, the term "Brussels Style" was adopted in the Czech environment in the late 1950s and early 1960s for late modernist expression, especially in applied art and design.
The lamp consists of three chrome-plated steel tubes divided in the middle by a conical ring with a switch. Each tube has a bendable neck at the top and is topped with a coloured parchment shade. The lamp has been completely cleaned in our workshop and new coloured parchment shades have been made. The lamp is in perfect condition and is fitted with three E27 light bulbs.
